Andre is well versed in contract negotiations, regulations, procurement, cost control and project management.

 

Luke van der Nest

Head of Business Development

Luke has a B.Acc degree from Stellenbosch University and deals with structuring experience in a number of industries across Africa. He brings significant energy to the team and has been instrumental in opening the European and global markets for MG Health, leading the successful negotiations of key off-take agreements for the company.

 

Robert Verseput

(SA)

Advisor Pharma/GMP Manufacture

Robert completed his internship as a pharmacist in Johannesburg before moving to Technikon Laboratories, a pharmaceutical contract manufacturer where he spent the next 22 years as MD. He gained broad experience from manufacturing as the sole pharmacist, to managing a large, modern pharmaceutical business with a PICs GMP approved 14 000 m3 plant,  that employed 200 people and serviced over 40 pharmaceutical customers.

After selling his interest in Technikon in a trade sale, Robert moved to Eurolab ASU, which performs aseptic manipulation of sterile oncology preparations.

As Chief Pharmacist, Robert guided the business towards being GMP  accreditation and recognition as a world-class aseptic unit within two years.  The process included the establishment of protocols and implementing QA systems for a comprehensive microbiological testing laboratory, stability testing facilities with the required people, process and product flows.

 

Retšepile J. Elias

Non-Executive Chairman

Founder and executive director of Nala Capital Advisors, Retsepile has held many board-level positions in various organisations and brings diverse experience to the organisation. Previously MD of African Alliance Lesotho, an asset management firm, Retsepile oversaw the rapid accumulation of capital for the firm.

Kasief Isaacs

Kasief Isaacs is a qualified chartered accountant with a specific focus on energy, technology, and infrastructure. He has in excess of 20 years of experience in managing projects and leading teams – spanning several countries, multiple time zones, and languages.

Kasief has executed numerous advisory mandates for local and foreign developers, investors and contractors focused on the SA renewable energy market. His experience and knowledge are highly valued by his colleagues at the fund management company, Mergence.

 

Steve Chan

Non-Executive

Steve is the VP of Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary of The Supreme Cannabis Company.

He is an experienced corporate executive and advisor, having served as a senior advisor to boards and senior management of major companies in the US, Canada, and the UK in the areas of corporate strategy, performance assessment, corporate governance, and executive remuneration.

Steve has significant experience and knowledge of the cannabis industry and serves on several cannabis-related boards in the UK and Asia.  He also serves as an adjunct faculty at York University teaching on corporate governance matters.

Melani Botes

Resident Pharmacist & QP

Melani (MSc.Pharm; MBL) joined MG Health in June 2019 as Responsible Pharmacist/Qualified Person and is currently based at the MG Health Manufacturing Facility in Lesotho. Melani has 33 years of experience covering many disciplines in the pharmaceutical space:  as an owner of retail pharmacies, managing the export of pharmaceuticals into Africa, running divisions of local and international companies, and heading up a regulatory department. In her previous position prior to joining MG Health she managed process and equipment validations, gained experience in HVAC qualifications, conducted training, dossier updates and tutored Pharmacist Assistants.

A local Commercial Attorney whose value lies with government relations, community and stakeholder relations advisory. Ntlatlapa is a member of the Lesotho law society and has been involved in a number of negotiations and mediation matters.

Letitia Louw

Quality Assurance Manager

(MSc in Physiology) started her career in quality assurance (QA) at Cipla South Africa where she assisted with product quality reviews. In 2018, she started working at MG Health as a Deputy QA Manager. In this position, she aided the implementation of the Quality Management System and training of junior employees. Currently, Letitia is the QA Manager at MG Health where she is overseeing the quality of various aspects in the manufacturing facility and ensuring maintenance of the QMS.

Jerard Gibbon

Program Manager

Jerard (MSc) started working for MG Health as the Deputy Production Manager to operate and develop the extraction process. In this position, Jerard aided with the conceptualization and process development for various production processes. It was decided that for the EU GMP Cannabis Flower certification to make use of Project Management principles, Jerard created a program to achieve our goal of EU GMP Cannabis flower. 

Tom Jacobs

Production Manager

Tom Jacobs (BEng Chemical UNSW) joined MG Health in March 2019 with over 10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Production/Engineering. Tom has a broad variety of experience in GMP Manufacturing covering a range of disciplines.

Tom previously worked at Pharmaxis, an Australian based Pharmaceutical company where he was essential in the design, qualification and management of a world-class manufacturing facility.
